Opinions Are Like . . .

...well, you've likely heard that saying, and it's true, opinions are like the external opening of the rectum! Everybody has one! I have lots of them (opinions, not anuses) and choose to share them here on my blog, or privately with friends. Sometimes I comment on others' blogs and posts with my opinion, but only in a manner that can give an alternate theory or a great big hoo-rah to the writer! I usually also like for my opinions to be based on some theory, not some random bigoted airheadedness (ahem, this will appear in my dictionary shortly)!

Now, you may know some jerks who like to share their negative or rude opinions on your blog posts, status updates, etc. Try not to hold anything against these people as they are obviously not keen on the subject of "comment etiquette". They usually don't realize that they are not being forced to read your stuff, they usually don't get the joke, they think they know more than you, or, simply said, they are probably just complete jerks like their comment suggests. They are not aware that negative comments (unless reserved for product feedback and locations where this effect is desired) is meant to be had behind the scenes through such things as a private message or an e-mail. It can also be said of these individuals that they are judgmental as opposed to you who understands it is not your place to judge, for example, what one uses as a term of endearment. Furthermore, if the comment is not intended to be rude, the offender needs to find a method of writing said comment in such a manner that lets you know this, after all, not all of us can read minds!

As for those people that like to say things aloud to you in such a manner that you feel belittled, well, let me tell you, they've accomplished their goal. But, rest assured good reader, these people only belittle because they feel they need the power. The real power lies within you, the one who is not only smart enough to know the etiquette, but the one who isn't the external opening of the rectum!

With that said, I shall leave you now to comment up this post . . .

Day Old Words

I've owed you some words for some time now. Sorry. What more can I say?

To the point, I want to know what your favorite words are...I've asked around on Twitter and have gotten a very small, but good group of word responses. So please comment here, there, or anywhere with your words.

If you are wondering why I want to know, well, I have two answers. First, I just like words. Always have; in fact I like words so much that I could commonly be found reading the dictionary. More appealing to me is the evolution of words (also known as etymology, see, a new word for you).

The second reason is that I believe we all have words we like to use, or that we like the sound of, or even like knowing simply because it is uncommon. I'm doing a sort of compare/contrast study of words because I theorize that there is a pattern to word usage based on our fondness of words. Several patterns actually. The only downside to my little study is that the words have to be English. I don't want to tell you the patterns because it may skew your word selection, but I'd really appreciate any input you have!

So thanks in advance comrades!

Now, onto the urban slang G's:
pimp:
1. To make something look more flashy or showy. Usually applied to cars and homes.

2. To advertise (generally in an enthusiastic sense) or to call attention in order to bring acclaim to something; to promote.

pimp tight: Ridiculously ill, the sweetest thing ever. [ha!]
backyard: The posterior portion of the human body; substitutes for "bum", "butt", or "ass".
hangry: When lack of food causes you to become angry, frustrated, or both. An amalgam of "hungry" and "angry" invented to describe that feeling you get when you are at a restaurant and have been waiting for more than an hour to get the meal you ordered. [amalgam, how'd you like that one?]

I'd Like Upper Decker for $1011, Alex

WOW, stressful day that has thus far included the following (please note it's only noon as I write this):

-A legal issue I tried to help a friend with (can't discuss because if I did, there would be an e-trail)
-A meeting where we (the structural engineers) had to piss a bunch of people off, maybe not so much pissed off, but we made them very unhappy!
-Poor Meeting Notes:

-FedEx pissed me off, yet again!
-I snapped at a coworker!
-I had an argument about "just because you do it that way doesn't mean the way I do it is wrong"!
-More coordination issues between the architectural and structural modeling in my project.
-The highlight though, a $1011 mobile phone bill! It's being taken care of, and no, I don't owe that much. But fuck, try waking up and starting your day with that!

It's a good thing that I have the following fun things to talk about:

-I made up a new word... Brittanyized: to not wear panties while wearing a skirt.
-I have become a lifer with AT&T thanks to my favorite new customer service agent Carlos Fuentes. I still need to pen a letter to confirm his awesomeness with AT&T!
-I have re-established that I can be useful to people with legal quandaries, despite my callous nature!
-I'm drinking new types of tea today, fun!
-I found out what an "upper-decker" is...
-Best story I've heard in a while and it goes like this...

Two renters, Eric and Dave go home one night. They arrive to find that someone has changed the locks. How odd they think. They call the homeowner who has no idea what they are talking about. They call anyone they can think of that would play a mean joke on them, but to no avail. During this time they find out that someone has also now cleaned the back yard. It's a curious thought, who comes over to change your locks and clean your back yard? Want to know the rest? Tune in tomorrow!

Words...
quarter to eight: A BMW 745i Sedan.
overflow mode: Used to describe the actions of a short-tempered female who always seems to be angry. Related to mensturation and PMS.
