When I wasn't watching, everyone's lives changed. It's not like I haven't noticed things different here or there. I just haven't taken time to look at the whole book shelf so to speak, to notice that not only have books been relocated, but some have been removed all together. Some books have been left without binding or have been ripped and torn. Some books appear to have been taped and renewed.

I don't want to talk about any one specific allegorical book per say, but I will elaborate enough to explain those I've noticed as of just this week. Maybe you can pick out which book you are! One book has simply disappeared. Another book has split in half. One book has been separated but rebound to that which makes two very nice looking books instead. At least a couple of books now have sequels. Another book isn't quite close to completion, but hey, who can rush a masterpiece? And one very exciting book ended up in TWO jails!

All of this talk of books makes me think of three things I want to say to close this up.

Currently reading the Anita Blake series and it's quite enjoyable. They might give me nightmares, but really, what doesn't?

I'm really proud of That One for doing his whole reading thing...takes a real dog to do what he does! BOL! [yes, BOL, bark out loud]

I'm going to write a book one day titled The Bastard Phlebotomist. The guy is going to think he is a poet, but in reality, he'll stick patients poorly while trying to draw blood and wiggle the needle all around until the patient is bruised and sore! The only things he'll say are "confirm you address and birth date", "son of a ...", god....[then sounds like warble warble warble]", and "okay, go now". Sounds like a great read, huh!?

Last, but not least, I want to give a shout out to Stubbs, whose birthday passed uneventfully on April 2nd. Good day Stubbs, good day!

I'd Like Upper Decker for $1011, Alex

WOW, stressful day that has thus far included the following (please note it's only noon as I write this):

-A legal issue I tried to help a friend with (can't discuss because if I did, there would be an e-trail)
-A meeting where we (the structural engineers) had to piss a bunch of people off, maybe not so much pissed off, but we made them very unhappy!
-Poor Meeting Notes:

-FedEx pissed me off, yet again!
-I snapped at a coworker!
-I had an argument about "just because you do it that way doesn't mean the way I do it is wrong"!
-More coordination issues between the architectural and structural modeling in my project.
-The highlight though, a $1011 mobile phone bill! It's being taken care of, and no, I don't owe that much. But fuck, try waking up and starting your day with that!

It's a good thing that I have the following fun things to talk about:

-I made up a new word... Brittanyized: to not wear panties while wearing a skirt.
-I have become a lifer with AT&T thanks to my favorite new customer service agent Carlos Fuentes. I still need to pen a letter to confirm his awesomeness with AT&T!
-I have re-established that I can be useful to people with legal quandaries, despite my callous nature!
-I'm drinking new types of tea today, fun!
-I found out what an "upper-decker" is...
-Best story I've heard in a while and it goes like this...

Two renters, Eric and Dave go home one night. They arrive to find that someone has changed the locks. How odd they think. They call the homeowner who has no idea what they are talking about. They call anyone they can think of that would play a mean joke on them, but to no avail. During this time they find out that someone has also now cleaned the back yard. It's a curious thought, who comes over to change your locks and clean your back yard? Want to know the rest? Tune in tomorrow!

We Are A Cult

I love where I work. Let me say that again, I LOVE where I work. Most people say "there is no way a person can love work that much". Well to those people I say, "fine, we are a cult".

To a handful of people I know, I eagerly sent them to the hoklife blog to watch a video about one of the things we are doing here at work. I'm proud of us! I think we are fun!

So the big event happened last Friday (I was not at work, but in Kansas City). All of the finalists' information was included on the HOK life blog. It comes around now to tie breakers! This was the e-mail we got today, along with the flyer provided to show us the method of a tie-breaker. Very clever indeed.

Blue Room

So it's Saturday. I got up early to go get some blood work done. I was going to come home and sleep but I just wasn't tired. I played on the Internet, a fave to do, and I'm starting to feel a little sleepy again. I should be napping in no time!

I wish I could say I am in as good a mood as yesterday, but it's just not the case.

Wishy-washy.

It's supposed to snow today. It's so mind boggling because this past week was warm and sunny; now it's gloomy, rainy, and maybe snowy!?! St. Louis weather, if you don't like it, wait ten minutes and it'll change!

I have to clean out the spare bedroom, rather put my crap up in the spare bedroom so that Rachel M. can stay with us next weekend. I'm putting her in the blue room, it's less scary (less sheep), and has the more comfortable bed in my opinion.

Other than that, I don't really have any plans for the weekend. I should use this opportunity wisely, but I won't!
